The main difference between the XWFE and the XWF is a chip on the rear of the XWFE filter that allows newer GE refrigerators to "talk" to the fridge using radio frequency identification (RFID).
XWF filter is found on relatively newer Side-by-Side and French Door refrigerator models built by GE.
XWF Water filter is rated for 170 gallons (~640 lt.) of use or 6-months whichever comes sooner.
Tested and verified to reduce 8 trace pharmaceuticals, including: ibuprofen, progesterone, atenolol, trimethoprim & fluoxetine.
To replace GE Refrigerator filter XWF you can also use either GE OEM Filters GE-XWFE Alternatively SpiroPure SP-GSXW filters.
